Australian School Library Association (Northern Territory) Inc.

There are two categories of membership.

  1. Personal -- This category is for anyone interested in school libraries and teacher librarianship. Personal members hold a vote, have the ability to stand for executive positions and attend professional development and other activities. [President, Vice President and ASLA Councillors need dual qualifications in teaching and librarianship]
  2. Corporate -- This category is for schools and other institutions. Each corporate membership is entitled to one vote and one person to attend professional development and other activities.

Membership benefits
ASLA (NT) members

  • have contact with other professionals who have similar interests and concerns
  • have access to a range of professional materials including ACCESS, the journal of the Australian School Library Association, published 4 times a year and A Different SLANT, the ASLA (NT) newsletter published 4 time a year.
  • become members of the Australian School Library Association, the peak body for school libraries
  • receive information about professional development activities
  • are able to attend ASLA (NT) meetings held in major NT centres
  • are eligible to apply for financial assistance to attend professional development activities (personal members only) and
  • can claim Personal membership as a tax deduction.
