Connecting to a Teleconference
1. Ring the appropriate number below.
Hobart 03 62400695 Rest of Tasmania 1800333803
2. After the voice prompt, enter the conference PIN. The conference PIN number for participants is 853 835 2683. The Moderator PIN is 893 550 4399.
3. When you are told you are "now connecting to" the teleconference, please announce yourself by saying your name after the tone.
4. If the teleconference has not commenced you will be put on hold till the teleconference moderator (convenor) joins - be patient and hang on.
If you are the minute secretary you will need to obtain a recording of the teleconference. Do so by following these steps:
1. Telephone our teleconference provider, Enterprise Care, on 1800 80 84 80 no later than 13 days after the meeting (otherwise the recording gets wiped). You can ring after we finish on the night of the meeting.
Please note: This is not the number for connecting to the teleconference.
2. You will need to give them your name, the name of the company that booked the teleconference and the teleconference's PIN, date and time (AEST/AEDT).
3. Indicate which format you prefer for the recording: CD, cassette or microtape, which they will mail to you, or an audiorecording they can email to you for you to save to your computer (you need Mediaplayer to play this). I always ask for the reliable CD.
4. Give you mailing address.
5. If you have not received the recording within 3 days of requesting it, ring them again. That 13 day deadline is absolute.
When you take the minutes, aim to forward your draft to the convenor within a fortnight of the meeting. The convenor will proof-read and distribute the minutes to ASLA-Tas Executive listserv.
