Call for Abstracts

School libraries play an important role within school communities as centres for teaching and learning, and in breaking new ground in the application of information and communication technologies in the delivery of library and information services.

We are now calling for innovative, practical and researched papers in all topics of interest to school library staff, particularly those exploring the Conference strands: engage, explore and celebrate.

  • professionals demonstrating commitment to standards and values
  • expanding horizons and broadening our thinking
  • the role of information literacy in a globalised world
  • the emerging technologies and developments in the world on the nature of learning and the future of education

  • authors and illustrators sharing their success for reading, writing and illustrating
  • storytelling as a vehicle for cultural and social interaction
  • the use of emerging technologies to inspire young people to compose, create and collaborate

  • collaborative planning and presenting with class teachers, of dynamic, engaging, student learning programs.

Submission process

Abstracts must be submitted online. Before you start:

  1. Download the Call for Abstracts: Submission Guide [PDF file]. You will be asked to provide this information in your online submission.
  2. Write your abstract on the Conference Abstract Template [Word document]. Save this Word document to the hard-drive on your computer. Now you are ready to complete the online submission. Click on the web link below to access the online submission form.

Important dates

Friday 21 November 2008 -- Closing date for submission of abstracts
Friday 16 January 2009 -- Notification of acceptance of abstracts
Friday 1 May 2009 -- Closing date for those authors wishing to have their paper/s refereed.
Wednesday 1 July 2009 -- Submission of full papers for inclusion in the proceedings and eligibiilty for speaker's registration rate
