Library Webs present an online educational research service providing an Internet Library of approximately 80,000 carefully selected links. The resources are arranged in subject order with over 360 individual topics divided into sections. Users can search the database by keyword search or advanced search, by browsing the topic list, or by going straight into the subject categories. Topics have been chosen to relate directly to curricula and assignments in Australian middle and secondary schools.
Teacher-Librarians using Library Webs will not have to spend hours searching for sites and creating web pages. By subscribing to Library Webs Teacher-Librarians will have more time to do what they do best - assisting students and teachers to find the right information at the right time, teaching critical thinking skills and taking a leadership role in the educational outcomes of their schools.
Library Webs resources can be used as a support to study units or as the central focus to a unit of work. Because of the division of each topic into sections, Library Webs provide a unique set of resources for group work, and offer a scaffolding tool for in-depth study. Students using Library Webs have immediate access to authoritative Internet resources and are able to stay focused on their learning outcomes, without the distraction of all the extraneous and dubious material which is present on the Internet
