Frequently Asked Questions

Accommodation (on-site) -- Fagan House

Delegates who are staying on-site should go to Fagan House and off load luggage in the foyer area. Then proceed to Ramsay Hall for registration and to collect your room key (Sunday afternoon and Monday morning registration). See the venue web page for relevant maps. For delegates arriving on Saturday - the Conference Secretariat will contact you prior to the conference to make arrangements for you to register and collect your room key.

Bus pick-up and drop-off service (off-site delegates)

For delegates who are staying at the following off-site accommodation facilities - Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour, Ibis Sydney On Darling Harbour, Rydges North Sydney, Vibe North Sydney, Best Western Twin Towers Inn, Hotel Urban St Leonards - bus services will be available as follows.

Sunday, 2 October - 1.00 pm commence pick-up at Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour and then progress to the other locations on the way to the conference venue. Please make sure you are waiting outside any of the above locations to hail the driver.
Sunday, 2 October - 6.30 pm commence journey to Harbour Cruise destination (Jeffrey Street, Kirribilli - Sydney Harbour Ballroom vessel) for all persons attending the conference dinner, or commence drop-off back to off-site accommodation for those not attending the conference dinner.
Sunday, 2 October - 10.30 pm commence journey from Jeffrey Street, Kirribilli to all accommodation locations with final destination being Fagan House, Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview.
Monday, 3 October - 8.00 am commence pick-up at Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour and then progress to the other locations on the way to the conference venue. Please make sure you are waiting outside any of the above locations to hail the driver.
Monday, 3 October - 5.00 pm commence drop-off back to off-site accommodation. [Note: More information will be available later for those staying off-site who will be attending the Themed Dinner at the conference venue.]

Times for Tuesday and Wednesday will be available soon.

Catering

All tea breaks and lunches will be served amongst the trade exhibition in the Gartlan Centre. For delegates with special dietary requirements, please make yourself known to the Conference Secretariat -- stand 23 in the trade area.

Indemnity / Liability / Insurance

In the event of industrial disruption or natural disasters, the organising committee and ASLA Inc. cannot accept responsibility for any financial or other losses incurred by the delegates or exhibitors. The organising committee and ASLA Inc. take no responsibility for injury or damage to persons or property occurring during the conference. All insurance, including medical cover, or expenses incurred in the event of the cancellation of the conference is the individual’s responsibility. Attendees are encouraged to choose a travel insurance policy that includes loss of fees/deposits through cancellation of the conference itself, loss of airfares for any reason, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. ASLA Inc. will take no responsibility for any participant failing to insure.

Local Restaurants & Eateries near Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview

A list of local restaurants & eateries near the college will be available from the Conference Secretariat.  You can collect this at the time of on-site registration.

Local Transport

Buses ‐ Route number 254 is a direct route from the Queen Victoria Building to Riverview and route 288 requires a change of bus at Lane Cove to get to the College.

Trains ‐ catch train to St Leonards station and check bus timetable to catch bus route 254 to Riverview.

Taxis ‐ Ask to be dropped off near the roundabout in the College grounds and near the green roofed building. On return to your accommodation, ask the taxi to collect you at the Archway (see map near G - Refectory

Name badges and tickets

Name badges should be worn at all times. Admission to all sessions, morning teas, lunches and the trade will require you to wear your name badge. All social events will require a ticket which you will collect at the time of your on-site registration.

Privacy Statement

In registering for this event relevant details were incorporated into the delegate list for the benefit of major sponsors, exhibitors, ASLA Inc. and other parties directly related to this conference. At the time of registration you
were able to indicate your consent.

Registration desk

The registration desk will be located in the foyer of Ramsay Hall on:
Sunday 2 October 2011, 2.00 pm to 5.30 pm
Monday 3 October 2011, 8.00 am to 9.00 am

Then the registration desk will be located at stand 23 in the trade exhibition area in the Gartlan Centre on:
Monday 3 October 2011, 9.30 am to 5.00 pm
Tuesday 4 October 2011, 8.00 am to 5.00 pm
Wednesday 5 October 2011, 8.00 am to 4.00 pm

Security

Please ensure that you take all items of value with you at all times when leaving a room. Do not leave bags, mobile devices, laptops/iPads unattended.
