Access is the official journal of the Australian School Library Association and is published quarterly and distributed to over 1500 teacher librarians, librarians, academics, library technicians and students in the field of teacher librarianship and school libraries. Readership coverage varies from those studying to become a teacher librarian through to lead teacher librarians in K-12 schools and academics in higher education and course delivery.
Access provides an open forum for educators and researchers who are interested in the field of teacher librarianship and school libraries. Major foci include collaborative curriculum development, inquiry-based learning, information and digital literacy, information technology and its integration into teaching and learning programs, e-learning environments and information management. All articles are written by knowledgeable and experienced educators and practitioners within education and school libraries.
The publication provides a balance of theory, research and practice to support the ongoing professional needs of its readers. Less formal articles such as profiles, news and events provide an insight into the profession at work.
