The Information Process provides a framework of sequential steps through which learners are able to develop skills and strategies to become information-literate, life-long learners. These are:
This professional development video for teachers and teacher librarians demonstrates, through both a primary and secondary case study, the importance of integrating information literacy and information technology outcomes into curriculum programs.
Suggested usage with teachers. The following session could be used at a staff meeting of teachers. Participants should be seated at tables in groups of 4-6.
Session duration = 1½ hours
• Room organised with small tables and chairs. Each table to seat 4-6.
• Photocopy handouts
• Photocopy overhead transparencies and set-up overhead projector and screen. Alternatively a data projector could be used if available (Power point presentation attached)
• Organise white board and pens, Post-it notes
• Ensure order forms of the video are available if appropriate.
